Accountability and Performance Reports

Accountability & Performance Reports
Bridge City ISD is committed to transparency and continuous improvement. Each year, state and federal agencies provide reports that highlight student achievement, growth, and overall district performance. These reports give parents, staff, and the community a clear picture of how our district and campuses are performing and where we continue to grow.

A-F Accountability Rating System

The state of Texas established curriculum standards, a statewide assessment system, and an accountability framework for public schools to ensure that all students develop strong foundational skills in reading and math. Over time, this system has evolved into one that rates and ranks students and schools based on college readiness and advanced standards measured through the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR). However, it is important to note that neither higher education institutions nor the workforce consider STAAR assessments to be a valid indicator of long-term post-secondary success.

TX Academic Performance Reports (TAPR)

The Accountability Summary Report provides state accountability ratings issued to the district and campuses based on student performance on the State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR).

At Bridge City ISD, our staff is committed to planning and delivering instruction aligned to the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Our goal is for every student to learn and grow each year so that, upon graduation, they are fully prepared to enter the workforce, college, or a career preparatory program with the knowledge and skills needed for success.

Federal Report Cards

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) was first passed in 1965 to provide all children with equal access to a high-quality education. The law has been reauthorized several times, including as the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) in 2001. Its primary goal was to close achievement gaps among student groups by increasing accountability and providing more flexibility and choice for families.

As part of federal requirements, TEA provides Federal Report Cards for every district and campus in the state. These reports include information on student achievement, accountability, and federal program participation.

Accreditation Status

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) accredits public school districts in Texas at the K–12 level. Accreditation statuses are based on academic performance, financial performance, and compliance with state requirements. Possible accreditation statuses include: Accredited, Accredited-Warned, Accredited-Probation, and Not Accredited-Revoked. View the 2022-2023 Accreditation Statuses on the TEA website.

PEIMS Financial Standards

Bridge City ISD submits financial data each year through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS). These state-required reports provide a transparent look at the district’s financial accountability and ensure compliance with Texas Education Agency standards. School FIRST (Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas) Ratings are designed to ensure that school districts are accountable for the quality of their financial management practices. Ratings are based on 15 indicators, such as fund balance, audit findings, debt payments, and budget practices.
