District Notice Re: E-Cigarettes (Vapes) The 88th Texas Legislature passed House Bill 114 (HB 114) in response to the growing concerns surrounding e-cigarettes and vaping among young people. This law mandates that any student found in possession of, using, selling, giving, or delivering an e-cigarette (a vape device) on school premises or at any school-affiliated event must receive a discipline consequence at the District’s Alternative Learning Center (ALC). Bridge City ISD has made necessary adjustments to the Student Code of Conduct in order to comply with this new law. Read full notice by clicking here.

    Student Health Initiative (SB530)

EFFECTIVE Fall 2007: Physical Assessments will take place in grades 3-12.

    Overview:
Senate Bill 530 requires school districts to annually assess the fitness levels of ALL students in grades 3-12 starting in the 2007-2008 school year. Fitness Gram is the assessment tool identified by the Texas Education Agency to meet this mandate. This assessment tool uses criterion-referenced standards, called Healthy Fitness Zones, to determine students' fitness levels. In addition, as required by SB 530, this assessment tool measures three components of health-related physical fitness that have been identified as important to overall health and function including aerobic capacity; body composition; and muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility.

Parents have a right to request their child’s physical fitness assessment results.  Please contact your child’s campus.
